Handles workloads and diverse applications efficiently
We have a lot of VMs on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. On a single server, we have probably hosted 14 or 15 VMs. Out of these, 8 to 10 are continuously running, and four of them are backup VMs, so it can handle a good workload. For cybersecurity, it is only accessible on the intranet; it is not accessible through the web. We use it for local development purposes, and it is behind our firewall. Its security is strong. We handle a lot of test data for government and confidential customers. It is safe and strong locally. We have not experienced any security issues. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers have helped to reduce unplanned production downtime if we need to replace a hard disk, instead of completely shutting a server, there is a hot swap feature. It is quite good in that aspect. Usually, for any activity, there is a downtime of about 30 minutes. It has saved a lot of time. We have tried AI workloads for a development environment for a government customer in Singapore. The servers are hosted in Singapore. It is an ML-based engine with AI. It is a government project where data is processed, and we run it on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. The benefit of running AI workloads on PowerEdge Servers is that it is easy to allocate memory. The application we are running is memory intensive. It is pretty easy to scale memory and storage.

Simple to use and compatible with all other operating systems
I would rate the scalability of this solution a 10, on a scale from one to 10, with one being the worst and 10 being the best. There are currently about 2,000 users of this solution in our company as it's a hospital. We also have plans to scale further.

"One of the key reasons we integrate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers, particularly the ID Rack model, is for its remote monitoring and administration capabilities."
"Customer support is usually really good for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers."
"My favorite features of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers have been the redundancy and reliability."
"The ease of setting them up is valuable. It is easy to set them up."
"The most valuable thing about Huawei FusionServer is the fact that it's easy to use."

Cons

"I would improve Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers by making their firmware upgrades easier. They do have Dell OpenManage Enterprise, which is easy, but when I am at remote sites, I have to download it locally to apply updates."
"Capacity and performance could always be improved."
"The scalability could improve. If you want more scalability and high availability, you will have to change to a solution similar to VxRail."
"The analytics reports could be more useful."
"The design, in terms of power efficiency, can be improved."
"Power consumption is probably on everyone's top of mind regarding Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers; they use a lot of power and create a lot of heat. Also, the noise levels are pretty high, though I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done about it."
"In terms of energy use, it takes up a lot."
"It is hard to make a comparison without any technical factsheets for the other servers to compare with but like everyone else, it is about the pricing."
"In the next release, I'd like to see more features not in the hardware but in the platform where I can manage all the servers and the hardware of the servers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing for this solution is reasonable. We pay a basic premium with a military premium on top of that."
"This is an expensive solution."
"The product is cheaper than HP servers, but the price could always be better."
"When you compare public cloud solutions to PowerEdge in terms of cost, initially the cost of Dell servers or Dell technology was really high. However, right now it's on par or, maybe, even cheaper when we use Dell hardware. If we don't swap it out in three years and if we stretch it to four or five years, then we can get even more of an ROI versus cloud cost."
"The solution’s pricing is competitive with other products."
"It's not a very expensive solution."
"The pricing for this solution is competitive compared to others on the market."
"The solution's analytics helped to decrease production downtime by at least 30%."
